Gift wrapping ideas: Harry Potter

I’m a big fan of gift wrapping with a difference. I always try to be creative with wrapping where possible, and love to use the gift receivers favourite colours, styles or presents as inspiration.

In true millennial style, Harry Potter is of course one of mine and my friends favourite series of books and films. I thought I’d put together and photograph a quick and easy HP-themed gift wrapping post in the hopes that some of you might give it a go!

What you’ll need:

  • A Harry Potter book
  • A cutting board
  • A small craft knife
  • Cellotape
  • 1 metre of ribbon (in house colours of course!)
  • A Harry Potter charm or badge

I’m not suggesting you go at your beloved HP books with a craft knife, honest. I scoured my local charity shops to find a well-loved version of one of the books, and vowed only to use one if it had already had a good life.

I found a well worn Deathly Hallows book for just £1 at my local British Heart Flundatiom store and got to work. The rest of the pages won’t go to waste, and I’ll definitely use them for more crafting.

I used my miniature house badges to finish off my gifts, which I actually got at Harry Potter world at Universal Studios for $8. You can find similar ones on the online store or use Etsy to find some great charms.
