When you’re on a city break sometimes it can be difficult to find a quiet and tranquil spot to escape the hustle and bustle. The Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour provides just that.
It’s hard to imagine that this place exists. It’s situated in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world but it feels like you’ve landed in a beautiful oriental garden in the middle of nowhere. If you’re traveling around Australia on a budget and fancy an afternoon away from the crowds, I couldn’t recommend the gardens highly enough.
For just $6 entry you can wander around the gardens for as long as you like, admiring the amazing plants, flowers and trees that surround the traditional Chinese buildings, mini lakes and pathways. Keep an eye on where you step – a few large lizards call the gardens their home and you don’t want to spook or disturb them!
