Valley Gardens, Harrogate, Autumn 2017

Harrogate is a place I know quite well as I was lucky enough to work there for just over two years. The town is home to some amazing little independent shops and cafes making it a must-visit place for Christmas shopping, but it is known best for its expansive gardens and parks. And Betty’s of course.

Rich and I were in town this weekend as managed to get tickets to see Greg Davies at the convention centre. We made a weekend of it as it was our anniversary and booked into a hotel, went for a lovely meal (Stuzzi – you have to go!) and had some time to visit Valley Gardens.

The Valley Gardens Harrogate are English Heritage Grade II Listed gardens, open all year round and home the lovely Sun Pavilion which is always booked up solid with weddings. If you’re lucky you can catch a glimpse of wedding party photoshoots in the gardens on a weekend. Jealousy level = maximum.

There’s a fantastic floral trail you can follow through the gardens which is definitely worth doing. If you’re up for it you can also walk the two miles through to Harlow Carr and check out the RHS gardens, we didn’t have time this weekend but it’s on the list for next spring for sure.
