Autumn treats

From falling leaves to cosy nights in and cinnamon buns to pumpkin spiced lattes, this time of year is by far my favourite. I’m not one to splurge or treat myself (especially not at the moment as I’m saving for a house!) but when autumn comes around, I like to pick up a couple of little bits just for me.

I decided to stop by Hotel Chocolat in Leeds as I noticed their new autumn product range had launched and I couldn’t resist a little look around. I managed to stop myself from buying the full Autumn H-box (pretty proud of my self control there to be honest) and opted for the Rustle and Crunch selector. It’s a good job I went for the mini pack because they were gone in about ten minutes. I’ll definitely be back for more. Probably tomorrow.

My friends will be the first to tell you I’m not the most fashion forward person, which you’ve probably guessed by now from the lack of fashion posts on my blog or if you’ve seen any photos of me. I’m definitely one for comfort over style, which I’m perfectly ok with. But one thing I do love is my beauty picks, and autumn means my favourite colours are back with a bang. Brown, nude, beige and blush tones are my go to colours and this time of year is the perfect excuse to treat myself to some darker nail colours and lipsticks.

Last Christmas one of my favourite gifts was a pack of OPI minis and I’ve been waiting for September to swing around so I can take full advantage of the lovely darker colours in the set. Tickle My France-y, Lincoln Park After Dark and Speaker of the House are going to be my top tones for September and October. I picked up a cute pack of gold-toned rings from H&M so I could do a little manicure at home – you can’t argue with £2.99 for a pack of ten and they look really cute with the beige and brown OPIs.

The NYX Lip Lingerie range is amazing and if you’re a fan of matte liquid lipsticks and can’t justify ordering from Kylie Cosmetics, then this is the next best thing. I picked up a couple of shades for autumn – 7 (Satin Ribbon) and 8 (Bedtime Flirt). Satin Ribbon is a light nude, perfect for autumn days and Bedtime flirt is a darker, more minky, nude which is great for evening wear.

I’m very happy with my little autumn treats and can’t wait for an excuse to wear my new NYX liquid lipsticks.
